I am a singer, author, music journalist and PhD in musical performance 2011.

In my thesis Think'st thou to seduce me then? Impersonating songs with female personas by Thomas Campion (1567-1620), 2011, gender and gender history became one of my most important issues, since the songs with female personas from ”The Golden Age” in my thesis never were intended to be sung by women. Instead the most likely use of the songs were for Thomas Campion to amuse and bond the homosocial network in the English aristocracy to which he belonged.

Thus the projecting and performance of gender was investigated in theory and practice. Since also the female parts in Shakespeare's plays were impersonated by men, I experimented the Renaissance play with gender identities by singing the songs myself dressed as a man.

Since I believe Campion's songs with female personas belonged to a male network, I tried to translate this bonding to modern Swedish male networks by writing a play called Kärlekstörst & Vägföreningar, where all the female parts were acted by men, and I acted one of the male characters. Even in this context Campion's music was used, togehter with newly written material (both text and music)

I have worked many years as a music journalist at the Swedish National Broadcasting Company, (radio) As a singer, writer, composer and arranger I have produced numerous scenic productions, and cd:s.

I have also been a member of the internationally reknown Rilke Ensemble with professor Gunnar Eriksson for more than thirty years.
