Honour degree in Architecture, master of Art and Culture Management, he holds a Ph.D. in Design Sciences from University Iuav of Venice. His Ph.D. thesis on humanoid interfaces was awarded a grant for publication from the Swiss National Science Foundation. He was a visiting professor at Escola Superior de Disseny of Sabadell, Spain, and lectured extensively at the schools of architecture, fashion, graphic, and product design at the University Iuav of Venice, Italy. He is currently a researcher at the Laboratory of Visual Culture, Department of Environment Construction and Design at Supsi in Lugano.

He is the coordinator of the research project "Mobile Access to Knowledge: Culture and Safety in Africa. Documenting and assessing the impact of cultural events and public art on urban safety", curated by Iolanda Pensa in collaboration with Roberto Casati.
