Sascha Mikloweit trained in fine art in Münster, Düsseldorf and at Central Saint Martins, London. Following an interest in violence and ideology, his work engages with the realm of public security including counter-terrorism, value systems and counterfeiting, crime scenes and intelligence services. Format and medium of his work are determined in the process of subject-specific engagement. This often involves detailed ethnographic inquiries, and has included participatory interventions, performance, speculative documentation, video, installations, prints and projections. Most recently, it has assumed the format of minutely documenting and interpreting the remnants of a bag detonated by Counter-Terrorism task forces.
Sascha Mikloweit has exhibited in South-Korea, Canada, the UK, Austria, Poland and Germany, and lately a solo-show ‘If You’re Frightend We’ll Protect You’ in Sao Paulo, Brazil. His work is held in public and private collections in Europe and North America. He lives and works in London and Berlin.
