Dominique Lämmli has long been working with studio-based, collective and performative painting strategies. She has also co-initiated temporary spaces for joint learning, imagination and co-creating with colleagues across the world and has explored and written on working with art in socio-cultural settings. In 2022, she earned a PhD at the Humboldt University zu Berlin for her study on Art in Action Research (AiAR), supervised by Boike Rehbein. She is a lecturer at Zurich University of the Arts (Switzerland) and the co-founder of FOA-FLUX, a Zurich-based research micro-hub, and of reallabs.university.

 

She also holds a Lic. Phil. I (main: philosophy; minor: comparative literature) awarded by the Zurich University; a Diploma FH in Fine Arts, and Diploma FH in didactics, psychological pedagogy. She has taught at tertiary, secondary, primary, and continuing education levels. She has been (guest)lecturer at ETH Zurich (CH), Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee (DE), Srishti—Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IN), University of Malawi (MW), China Academy of Art Hangzhou (CN), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (HK/CN), among others. She has been an advisor in several art/architecture/public space committees, such as KiöR, a strategic working group of Zurich for art in public spheres.

 

She regularly contributes to academic conferences, with regular shows in museums and galleries. She has obtained numerous art grants and studio residencies in the last twentyfive years, including a fellowship from the Akademie Schloss Solitude.
