Seojin was born in Jeju Island in South Korea. She began her musical journey at the age of six when she started lessons on the piano. Shortly after moving to Vancouver in 2002, she began to pursue playing the violin full time with Karina Slupski. An avid performer, Seojin has held Concertmaster positions in the University of Western Ontario Symphony Orchestra and has performed in the Western Early Music Studio as well as various chamber groups. She was actively involved in indie music scene in Canada and has collaborated and recorded with musicians such as Shad K. and Basia Bulat. While at Western, she received the Gordon Jefferey Award and studied with Joseph Lanza and also received scholarship to study at the Glenn Gould Professional school in Toronto with Atis Bankas for a year. She currently resides in Holland taking part in specialized study in early music with Enrico Gatti at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in the Hague under a special scholarship. She enjoys having lessons and participating masterclasses with Ryo Terakado, Rachel Beesley, and Catherine Makintosh. She had performed around the world such as Korea, Canada, United States, Holland, Poland, and Portugal. She took part in various festivals such as Festival Europa Consociata in Brzeg and Barokowe 5 O’clocki in Katowice (Poland), Chuncheon Early Music Festival (S.Korea), and Utrecht Festival (Holland). She collaborated with ensembles such as Divino Sospiro, Les Nations, Helios Ensemble (Gelders Bach Collegium), Ludus Sonorus, and Collegium Musicum Den Haag.
