Doriene began her harplessons with Lenie de Meij at the age of 6 at the SKVR in Rotterdam. In September 1996 she received the Young Talent Prize of the Gergiev Festival in concert hall ‘De Doelen’ in Rotterdam.

In February 1999 she participated, with pedal harp, in a television show called ‘Solo for a Child’ for the Foster Parents Plan and a number of shows on the VPRO.

Since September 1999 she studied at the Conservatory in Utrecht with her teacher Erika Waardenburg in the Young Talent Class, whereupon she continued her studies with her at the Amsterdam Conservatory.

Since September 2009 she continued her study at the Conservatory of Tilburg with Ernestine Stoop where she graduated Cum Laude in june 2012.

In July 2008 she played a solo recital at the World Harp Congress and in August at the Day of Romantic Music.

Doriene has followed master classes with Alfredo Rolando Ortiz, Jana Bouskova, Claudia Romondor, Elizabeth Fontan-Binoche, Sarah O’Brien, Park Stickney, Emilia Moskvitina, Isabella Moretti, Brigitte Sylvestre, Mara Galassi and Sivan Magen
