Tuuja Jänicke is a theater director and pedagogue based in Helsinki Finland. Jänicke has a Master of Arts in Theatre Studies from the University of Helsinki and is currently a doctoral student in artistic research at the University of the Arts Helsinki. She is trained as gestalt therapist at Gis-International Denmark. Jänicke is a founding member of Theater Venus and other theater collectives. As artist and pedagog she is specialized in collaborative strategies in constructing performances. Since 1996 she has been developing actors´ training practice based on gestalttherapeutic approach. In her current research she is exploring the possibillties of now-moment on stage. The work is based on existential philosophy and phenomenology.
