Graduated in mathematics and received his PhD in 1991.  In 2003 he also finished an MBA with focus on innovation, creativity and knowledge processes.  Since 1991 he works for the School of Architecture Sint-Lucas. Since 2011 he also holds an adjunct professorship at RMIT (Australia).

His main interests were CAAD, new technologies used for designing and management processes in higher education.  Recently, he started working on knowledge processes, especially in design disciplines: research by design and research based on and related to practice.
