Soprano Wendeline van Houten obtained her Bachelor degree in at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with her teachers Lenie van den Heuvel and Sasja Hunnego. Now she proceeds her Master degree. Her coaches are the pianists Carolien Drewes and Peter Nilsson.

Wendeline participated in masterclasses by Margreet Honig, Derek Lee Ragin, Christiane Oelze, Malcolm Martineau, Nelly Miricioiu, Miranda van Kralingen and Kenneth Montgomery. Recently she could be heard in a masterclass by Christa ludwig and Jard van Nes organised by the International Vocal Competition 's Hertogenbosch. 

In the recent past she made many a public appearance, for instance in Opéra Mosset (France) where she sang Violetta in a program dedicated to Verdi, and appearing in Offenbach's Belle Hélène in the role of Parthénis. In the summer of 2015 she will sing the role of Bertha in Le Barbier de Séville for this company.
In a project by Kenneth Montgomery, Wendeline made her solo debute in the Dr Anton Philipszaal in The Hague with Mozart's concert aria Voi avete un cor fedele. During the summer of 2014 she participated in Korngold's operetta Die Stumme Serenade, a production of the Dutch National Opera Academy under the direction of Etienne Siebens.
Whereas the oratories are concerned, Wendeline van Houten is also a successful and often to be seen performer. After her debut in Bach's Ein Deutsches Requiem at Utrecht's Geertekerk under the direction of Martin Kuijlenburg, followed Bach's  St John Passion, Haendel's Messiah, Saint Saën's Christmas Oratorio and Rossini's Petite Messe Solonelle. Coming season she can be heard and seen in Bach's St Matthew Passion and his Christmas Oratorio.
