Mitch Goodwin is a digital media artist and academic of 15 years experience. He is the Founding Director of the Screengrab International Media Arts Award and curator of the associated exhibition program. He is also a blogger and an intrepid researcher of visual culture.  Mitch has been employed extensively by the HE sector to design curriculum that exploit blended modes of delivery, embed WIL strategies and build interdisciplinary project pathways for both students and staff.  Mitch has appeared in a variety of public arenas over the years including guest lectures at galleries, festivals and institutions in both an academic and artistic capacity. He was recently a guest panellist at SXSW in Austin Texas and was selected to appear again in 2014 to deliver a solo presentation on his research into Liquid Ambience. Mitch is also keenly aware of the need for the engagement between institutions and local community networks and has facilitated and/or founded numerous arts programs for young people with private and government sponsorship during his tenure at institutions both in Australia and abroad.  These include the Cinem@tic Film Festival, UFA Leadership Program (Birmingham, UK), Homegrown Filmworks documentary initiative (Murwillumbah, AUS), Artspaced Inc, Artiz, Northern Lights Film Festival (Townsville, AUS), and most significantly as the Founding Director of the Renew Townsville project based on the successful Newcastle model.
