PhD student in the Faculty of Fine Arts at Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. At present she investigates on kaleidoscopic image, which is her research topic. In autumn semester 2016, she has been granted with an Erasmus+ fellowship for a postgraduate PhD stay in the Department of Art in the School of Arts, Design and Architecture at Aalto University in Helsinki, Finland, where she has collaborated as researcher and visiting teacher. She has a Degree in Fine Arts (University of Málaga), finishing her studies at Malmö University, Sweden, thanks to an Erasmus exchange. She has also completed a Master in Artistic Research and Creation and a Master in Teaching in Visual Art Education (Complutense University of Madrid). As visual artist, she participated in collective exhibitions in Spain and abroad, in creation/research projects and being awarded for her artwork. Mari Nieves Vergara has publications in the ViCCA journal (Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland) and in Spanish academic journals like ANIAV.
