Vera Plosila began her traverso studies at the age of 11 at the Helsinki Conservatory of Music. In 2016 she graduated as a Master of Music from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where she studied with both Kate Clark and Wilbert Hazelzet. In Finland Plosila studied with Petra Aminoff, Pauliina Fred and Jari S. Puhakka. She has also participated in masterclasses with Anne Freitag, Frank Theuns and Jed Wentz.

 

Plosila works regularly as a chamber and an orchestral musician. Her latest performances include concerts with the Amsterdam Corelli Collective, Trondheim Barokk and the Schwetzingen Hofmusik-Akademie. Plosila is also a regular member of the Finnish Ensemble Nylandia orchestra. She has worked with conductors and concertmasters such as Peter van Heyghen, Midori Seiler and Christoph Rousset.

 

Plosila has performed on the festivals Musica Sacra Maastricht, Trondheim Barokkfest, SWR Festspiele, Laus Polyphoniae Antwerpen and Fringe Oude Musiek Utrecht, as well as the Bach op Vrijdag concert series in the Netherlands. Some of these concerts have been broadcasted on the NRK (Norway), SWR2 (Germany) and NPO Radio4 (Netherlands) channels.

 

Plosila has performed in the finals of the IYAP 2013 competition with the ensemble Unikko Quartet as well as the EAR-ly 2016 competition for Nordic early music soloists.
