Exposition

A Call for Papers (last edited: 2017)

About this exposition

This exposition is Part One of a two part practice led research project. Part One as you will see is a provocation to myself and other academic researchers. The words are my adaption from the original Russian text written in 1901, first published in 1902, and then republished in 1907, of a text entitled: 'What Is To Be Done' by Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov. The images are all my own work. I am not a professional artists, merely a cultural theorist who is keen to practice, and to learn, as much as possible about the craft of cartooning, comics, sequential art, narrative and politics. Part Two, which will follow this exposition in 2017, will be a written document bringing together comments from Research Catalogue members and others. (If you would like to make comments I would be grateful for any response you may have in regard to your reading of 'A Call for Papers' and in whatever form you may choose to make your comments in.) This second section of this project will be an elucidation of my own research and reasons for making this piece alongside a dialectic engagement with any comments I may receive.
