This essay is the "closure" of the Historical Development class of The Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In this short article I will present the historical background of the folk song of Epirus and focus my research on the lamenting song, the Moirolói, and its characteristics. I will also briefly refer to the polyphonic song of the region.
