About this exposition

My first talk was with Lonneke van Heugten, also known artistically as Apollonia, is a poet-performer and the current city poet of Alkmaar. She creates poetry across mediums—from live spoken word and public installations to film and music—and leads the poetry-punk band GALM. Her work blends theatrical performance, design, and activism, aiming to make poetry visible and accessible. In addition to performing and organizing events like Poetry Jam, she offers creative writing workshops and serves as a poetic host at festivals and conferences. Beyond the arts, she also works as a coach using horses, combining personal development with creative expression. Lonneke admitted to knowing very little about my research subject, so instead of discussing specifics she gave me useful tips on artistic research as a whole, mainly to notate a lot and to use a flee flow writing style to later trim down. Corien van der Linden was my second expert talk. She is a researcher and educator working at the intersection of culture, design, and policy. She runs her own research consultancy, Terra Nova Partners in Onderzoek, and teaches at HKU (Utrecht University of the Arts), where she focuses on design research, design thinking, cultural policy, and supervises graduation projects. Corien mainly advised me to work interdisciplinary.
