About this exposition

This artistic research exposition is a repository for the three-day workshop series within the Herb Alpert School of Music at California Institute of the Arts for their Fall 2025 Project Week. It features a close reading of the essay, Ethical Dimensions of School-Based Music Education by Thomas A. Regelski (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_A._Regelski). Close reading strategies will include speech synthesis, listening, concept mapping, mind-mapping, personal note-taking regarding new knowledge, points of personal connection, questions/disagreements, and areas of further study related to the essay. Participants will create a digital poster (i.e., Canva, Google Drawing, etc.) showcasing their learning from the workshop series and an exposition of their personal ethics regarding school-based music education.
