Sander Hölsgens is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Arts, University of Groningen. Trained as a visual anthropologist, he currently explores the intersection between documentary cinema and activism. He co-founded Pushing Boarders, curates Field Recordings Film Festival, and is the Visual and New Media Review editor of Cultural Anthropology. His films are most recently screened at the British Museum, Royal Academy of Arts and London Korean Film Festival. In 2018, he finished his PhD at The Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, researching skateboarding in South Korea. He's currently filming a documentary with professional skateboarder Candy Jacobs.
