There has been some precedents, anticipating moves: no ornaments, flatness, reduction of forms, colors and materials. A proclamation of function and functionality although without specification. An announcement of availability—for work, for work-related activities.
And an increase of size. An opening, an expansion, a gesture of breaking the circle of familiarities—availability for the unknowns, for potential others to come.
