On this page I present videos with John Henry. You can also find links to John Henry's website, as well as a Spotify-link to the main artistic output of this project, i.e., the album Lucky Luck.
These are the official videos to four of the songs on the album Lucky Luck. Video 9 is A Couple of Days Ago, recorded at Alex the Great. Next are two videos recorded at Cinderella Sound Studios with Charlie McCoy on bass. Joe Spivey plays fiddle on Oklahoma and Jeff Taylor accordion on Nashville Yodelin' Blues. The last video is Flip That Rock, recoded at Cinderella Sound Studios with Charlie McCoy playing harmonica.
The first video represents John Henry's early, acoustic style. The performance is filmed at High Chaparall Country Festival, 2012. The second video represents early stages of John Henry's transformation to a more electrified sound, including electric guitar and pedal-steel guitar: Just Blown' Away, 2015. In video 3, John Henry has added drums and piano, which is the current lineup: About Whiskey, recorded October, 2020.
Video 4 is drawn from an online performance by Mikael Fall and myself at SPAH in August, 2020. This is not a John Henry performance per se, but on two tracks Mikael Fall and myself overdub harmonica to original John Henry recordings. Ika Weinz is featured on vocals and guitar on those tracks. The next two videos are live performances recorded at BD Pop studios in early 2021.
