The project was undertaken to experiment, guided by a selection of philosophical texts. Initially, we needed clarity on the methodology; as we progressed, a direction crystallized based also on our decision to create a podcast format that could be presented online alongside the exhibition. A mutual interest in fabulation informed our inquiry as it relates to a mode of making, thinking, and writing that operates between multiple fields of creative practice and theory. Pablo’s research-based design practice is known to extrapolate the potential of distributed computing through conjectural means to map the socio-technological infrastructure needed for a commons-based economy.2 The basis of my work is speculative practice-based arts research in the academy: the focus is on crafting ways to create a tangible understanding of the intertwining of theory and practice that students can bring to their explorations. In recent years, my artistic practice has centered on testing some of these ideas before introducing them into studio or seminar contexts – one such experiment is writing and composing for sonic narratological episodes, as presented here.
