Even though I listed the investigative cycles in a chronological and sequential order for you to observe my linear process, the actual thinking and perception of mine resided in a cyclic pattern, whereby I’m moving my attention and focus from one cycle to another in a freely and dynamic manner, knowing that when I leave a certain methodology & working approach, I can pick it up at any time, circulating in it and further exploring deeper meaning and aspects within that particular working method.
These cycles represent starting points of a never ending exploration and facilitate the gathered artistic inspiration and material to expand upon. I’m looking forward to dive into each cycle again, over and over, to explore further. A flow of continuity.
All the cycles are documented in a personal reflective manner and consist of an evaluation of the artistic outcome that happened retrospectively.It is important for me to notice, that even though certain cycles appear to look like a linear process through a clear causal continuity, at the actual moment in time, my mode of operation was rather unaware of the underlying center point of my research.
In each CYCLE#1-8, selected material is being exhibited in order to clarify the integration process into my musical & artistic creation. This happened upon the consistent circulation around a certain working method and illuminates the investigation on artistic perspectives and the aesthetic potential around the context of circular rhythmic-, as well as ambient electronic music through a linear sequence based improvisation.
So if I would attempt to see my whole research process from yet another point in perspective, I interpret that the mutability in confirming to various styles & cycles of methodology brought me into multiple realms of artistic creation, as well as into experience with examples of how my musical practice would sound like within those different contexts. It defines rather an open way of research. Emphasizing the changing and dynamic aspect of this artistic research.
Even though I left the cycle of exploration after a while, it illuminated a process that highlighted the potential of exploring each cycle, staying for as long as I intuitively felt the meaning and curiosity to do so, circulating around each artistic methodology, and thereby indeed softened the judgment & self imposed expectation on creating value for others through my process.
