First of all, I would like to warmly thank my singing teachers at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, Rita Dams, Francesca Aspromonte, Peter Kooij and Robin Blaze, who, in addition to their advice during our lessons, have given me their trust and friendship during the two years I have spent here.

I would particularly like to thank Tineke Steenbrinck for her support, friendship and availability, both for the beautiful moments of music spent together and for the more difficult moments of temporary dullness. And thank you for the collective Dutch lessons during the confinement!

I would like to warmly thank my supervisor, Inês de Avena Braga, for her sound advice and support throughout my master's degree.

Many thanks also to Bart van Oort, my master circle leader, for his invaluable advice, and to all my fellow master 1 or 2 students for their questions, which enabled me to refine my answers and adjust my subject.

Finally, thanks to my "French team" at the conservatory, Théo, Lucie and Méline, for the evenings spent together, the mutual support we managed to give each other when it seemed as if the world was falling apart around us.

Finally, a thank you that will never be big enough to my life companion, Guillaume, for his patience, unconditional support and help during these almost two years spent in The Hague.
