  The purpose of our machine is to allow individuals to create music through movement, without directly interacting with a traditional musical instrument. This creates a playful, distance-based method of creating music and allows for a unique performance art experience.

  The machine detects if someone is close via an ultrasonic distance detector and selects randomly if it will light up the spotlight. The concept is that the machine gets to decide if you are worth the spotlight, just like the Instagram algorithm decides if your content is worth seeing by others.
