Katja Münker is professionally trained in physiotherapy and Feldenkrais Method, studies of somatics, contemporary dance, (contact) improvisation and (real-time) composition. Director of Environmental Somatics Training and co-director of ISMETA-registered Somatic Practitioner Training at Somatic Academy Berlin, collaboration with AREAL_artistic research lab_Berlin. Artistic works, research, publications, and conference contributions with the focus on the connection between somatic and choreographic practices as well as on walking, perception, environmental relatedness and performativity. Participatory walking performances like Invitation to Walk, Im Gehen Verstehen and SCHRITTWEISE. Cooperation i.a. with Alex Arteaga, Bergrecherche, Susanne Mueller Nelson, Martin Nachbar, Ingo Reulecke and Sabine Zahn. Regular teaching i.a. for Art Universities, and co-curation of Take Us for a Walk-Symposium (2014) and BODY IQ Festival (2015-2017).
