We have observed how japan’s shape entered western fashion. But we will also see how it changed the mentalities and way of considering the woman body.
How did japanese fashion influencing Western fashion begin.

This exposition is in progress and its share status is: visible to all.
First we will observe how the characteristics of Japanese garments are seen in the cut, silhouette, textiles, patterns, and seam lines in late 19th/beginning 20th century Western’s fashion. Then we will investigate how these innovations enabled women to free themselves by changing perceptions.
