Helene Waage is a PhD candidate at the PhD specialisation Arts in context at the Faculty of Fine Arts at UiA. She explores how people with dementia and their close ones can use co-singing as a relational resource in everyday life. The PhD-project is inspired by posthuman and new-materialist theory and philosophy, and theories connected to neuropsychology and neuroscience. Helene also has a long career as a freelance musician in folk-music related and interdisciplinary projects. She has also worked as a therapeutic musician and course leader, especially within ageing and dementia care.
