Laura McGough is a media art historian, curator,  and educator.  She has organized exhibitions, screenings, performances and streaming content for arts organizations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia focusing on emerging technologies, gender and experimental cinematic + media arts practices.

She received an M.A. degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from New York University and  a PhD in the Department of Media Study at the University at Buffalo. McGough teaches contemporary and media art history at Alfred University. Her current research focuses on the turn to liveness within contemporary cinema and media arts.
