Dr Susanna Hast is a feminist researcher, singer, songwriter and movement teacher. She is currently a visiting fellow at the Center for Educational Research and Academic Development in the Arts at the University of the Arts Helsinki, Finland, and leads the "Subtle Corporealities: Strategies of Resistance for Creative Practitioners" project (Kone Foundation 2020-2021). She worked previously at the Theatre Academy, Helsinki as an Academy of Finland post-doctoral researcher with a project entitled ”Bodies in War, Bodies in Dance: Rhythm, Performance and Emotions in Finnish Military Training and Capoeira for Refugees” (2017-2020). She is the author of Sounds of War: Aesthetics, Emotions and Chechnya (E-International Relations 2018). Her latest album, Susanna Hast: Soft is the Sky, speaks about a dislocated memory of a target of violence.
