Olivia Rowland is an artist and practice-based PhD researcher at the Manchester School of Art, Manchester Metropolitan University.
"Drawing and writing are, first and foremost, fundamental ways to narrate myself into ‘being’. They enable me to construct a sense of identity and navigate the intersections where this is distorted by anxiety disorder.
Within my practice, there is a mimetic and fluid interplay between text and image which is not illustrative, but rather a language overall which uses a convulsing, fluid, stark and often vigorous use of drawn line."
