About this exposition

New Media Matrix Migration of art images to new media explores the the transformation of image to data. The representation of a new context suggests what core image means in the new media. As the migration of media into the digital domain matures, unique expressions of art and technology emerge. Data as sampled elements of art called by clustered code groups express a new form. The originality of the sampled art is mutated by this migration. Repetition, modular representation, synchronicity, and real time physical drag, effect a dialectic of experience. The mind is structured by experiential patterns teaching it new configurations. Complexity in itself shapes the context of this new form. Our experience of grouping units, anticipating structure and conceptualizing a greater scale play into the metaphorical organization of our perception. The New Media Matrix is the canvas crossing borders of traditional language and image presenting a frontier of perception. Two examples demonstrate the cross-pollination of media and art resulting from the New Media Matrix. The painting Institution is sampled and integrated into new media. In the installation "Big Picture" Many paintings are sampled and integrated into new media and re-established in mixed media mosaic installation. As a reference to the multiplicity of experimentation the book Art Migration To New Media is included. The New Media Matrix is a model to reference as we evolve artificial intelligence within our own perception.
