About this exposition

Here I present the choreographic ideas I developed in a collaboration of the DiscReTe Project. The DiscReTe project is focused on creating an AI-enabled wearable as a prototype for demonstrating the concept of intimate computing. This wearable device aims to support individuals with diverse communication needs in navigating social interactions, setting personal boundaries, and conveying their needs to others effectively. Designed as a tool for mediating social connections, the wearable addresses feelings of disconnection by facilitating nuanced, context-sensitive communication. The project combines transdisciplinary and participatory approaches, such as design through dance, to explore human-technology partnerships in social interactions and vulnerability-aware intimate technologies. By grounding its research in a case of an individual experiencing physical disabilities, DiscReTe examines how intimate technologies can foster self-understanding, perception, and relational dynamics. The final outcomes include both a wearable prototype and a public performance, illustrating the potential of intimate computing to enhance human connection, mediate diverse communication needs and support in social contexts.
