In my study, Performed Realness: On participatory Art and its Ethics, I address questions stemming from my artistic practice and concerning participatory art, the split between documentary and fiction, performed realness, the ethics of the abovementioned, and authorship. I discuss these topics in dialogue with other artists’ artworks and with theories. Nevertheless, my intent is not to execute a comprehensive study on works, that have the same traits as mine. Works with moving image, my own and other artists’, which leave me to wonder and perplex me were a starting point of my research. – Is this true? Are these people performing or are they just being themselves in front of the camera? Can one be in front of the camera without performing?

Tutkimuksessani Esitettyä aitoutta. Osallistavasta taiteesta ja sen etiikasta käsittelen omista teoksistani kumpuavia osallistavaan taiteeseen, dokumentaarisen ja fiktion väliseen halkeamaan, esitettyyn aitouteen, etiikkaan ja tekijyyteen liittyviä kysymyksiä. Käyn dialogia aiheisiini liittyvien muiden taiteilijoiden teosten ja teorian kanssa. Tarkoitukseni ei kuitenkaan ole ollut kattavasti tarkastella teoksia, joissa nousee esiin samoja piirteitä kuin omassa työssäni. Tutkimukseni lähtökohtana ovat olleet liikkuvan kuvan teokset, sekä omat että toisten taiteilijoiden, jotka jättävät minut ihmettelyn ja hämmennyksen valtaan – onko tämä totta, esittävätkö nuo ihmiset vai ovatko ainoastaan omana itsenään kameran edessä. Voiko kameran edessä olla esiintymättä?

I min avhandling Föreställd äkthet. Om deltagande konst och dess etik behandlar jag frågor som berör deltagande konst, klyftan mellan det dokumentära och det fiktiva, föreställd verklighet och etik angående de ovannämnda, samt frågor om upphovsmannaskap. Frågorna härrör från mina verk. Jag för en dialog med andra konstnärers verk och teorier, som berör dessa teman. Min avsikt är inte att göra en fullständig kartläggning över sådana verk i vilka det förekommer liknande drag som i mina verk. Utgångspunkten för min forskning har varit sådana verk med rörlig bild, både mina egna och andra konstnärers, som väcker min förundran och skapar förvirring hos mig – är det här sant, spelar de där människorna eller är de enbart sig själva framför kameran. Kan man låta bli att uppträda framför kameran?

This research sounds incredibly interesting and would be of great use to my own work. I really appreciate you providing the abstract in English and I wonder if you have an English version of the thesis anywhere that I could read.
