Norie Neumark is a sound/media artist and theorist, based in Melbourne, Australia.  Her sound studies research is currently focused on voice and the new materialist turn. Her writing on voice includes Voice: Vocal Aesthetics in Digital Arts and Media (MIT Press, 2010), lead editor and contributor, as well as a forthcoming monograph, Voicetracks – voice, media, and media arts in the posthumanist turn (MIT Press, 2016). Her collaborative art practice with Maria Miranda (www.out-of-sync.com) has been commissioned and exhibited nationally and internationally. She is Honorary Professorial Fellow, Faculty of the Victorian College of the Arts and Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne, and Emeritus Professor, La Trobe University, Melbourne. She is the founding editor of international peer-reviewed journal, Unlikely Journal for Creative Arts http://unlikely.net.au/.
