Riitta Rainio is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, Department of Philosophy, History, Culture and Art Studies/Musicology. Her postdoctoral research project “Music and sound practices at prehistoric North European burial, rock art and settlement sites” is funded by the Academy of Finland in 2013–2016.

Kristiina Mannermaa is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki, Department of Philosophy, History, Culture and Art Studies/Archaeology. Her postdoctoral research project “Animal remains in burial contexts in Mesolithic northern Europe” is funded by the Academy of Finland in 2013–2016.

 

Juha Valkeapää is a sound and performance artist, with a 20-year long career of performances, installations, radio pieces, and soundscapes ‒ solos and various group works ‒ vocal, sound, and performance art, theatre, music, dance. The key elements of his art are voice and sound, presence, space, and improvisation. In 2013‒2017 Valkeapää is working with the help of a five year grant allocated by National Council for Theatre.
