Elena Biserna

Elena Biserna is a researcher at Locus Sonus, École Supérieure d'Art d'Aix-en-Provence and Aix-Marseille University, CNRS, and PRISM (Perception, Representations, Image, Sound, Music). Her interests are focused on interdisciplinary areas of aesthetic research, dealing, in particular, with expanded sound, listening, and contextual, time-based practices in their relationships with urban dynamics, socio-cultural processes, and the everyday sphere. She taught at the Université Aix-Marseille and at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bologna. Her writings have been published in journals and books (Les presses du réel, Mimesis, Le Mot et le reste, Errant Bodies, Amsterdam University Press). As an occasional curator, she collaborated with several independent organisations including Sant'Andrea degli Amplificatori (Bologna), Cona Zavod (Ljubljana), Saout Radio, Xing (Bologna), and Sound Threshold (London). Projects include bip bop (Radio Città Fujiko, Bologna 2013), Mobile Audio Fest (Aix-en-Provence-Marseille 2015), Dreamscapes and other (un)conscious explorations (Cona Zavod, Ljubljana 2017) and Walking from Scores.
