Darya Tsymbalyuk is a PhD researcher at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. Her research explores human-plant relations in the stories of displacement from Donbas, Ukraine both through analysis of oral histories and through critical-creative practices, among which are drawing and creative writing. Darya is a co-author (with Victor Zasypkin and Julia Philipieva) of a participatory art project Donbas Odyssey and together with a team she is working on an animation film Displaced Garden. In addition to her PhD research, Darya works on a series of projects exploring nonhuman traces and inscriptions through repetition in the medium of drawing.
