Results,Findings and Discussion

I have studied the data and musical content by going over the recordings, transcripts, and creative output several times. Through this analysis, I have concluded that there are three recurring themes:

1. Maintenance of Tradition:

The substance of Sufi traditional music—its religious phrases, specific rhythms, and unique tonalities—is well when supplemented with contemporary techniques. This demonstrates deep reverence and devotion to maintaining the original form of Sufi music.

2. Integration of Contemporary Elements:

Classic Sufi music is being combined with contemporary instruments and arrangements. This integration doesn't replace tradition but introduces fresh layers that strengthen the overall musical experience. The creative blending of old and new provides a stimulating dialogue within the music.

3. Artistic Process as a Form of Knowledge Creation:

In art research, playing, recording, and producing music is not just a method—it is also a product. This means that the recordings and performances themselves are part of the data, giving new knowledge that is intertwined with the written analysis. The multimedia aspects collaborate with the text to establish a symbiotic conversation in constructing new knowledge.

These problems illustrate how artistic research produces new knowledge through the synthesis of creative performance and challenging analysis. The written observations, the performance, and the music all contribute to a better understanding of how Sufi practices are kept alive and further developed in the present context.

Based on Our findings, we can compare our results to the earlier literature and art in several ways:

1. Similarities: What our research does is merely verify what has already been written by the literature all along: that the perpetuation of traditional elements in Sufi music continues to be important. As previous studies emphasize the utmost importance of religious lyrics, rhythmic form, and distinctive tonalities, so does our research highlight that these traditional elements continue to be the support pillars of Sufi music. Both our research and the literature both underscore that these elements provide a strong foundation of identity and religiousness.

2. Differences:

Whereas most of what is previously written has concentrated on the retention of tradition, our research uncovers that newer instruments and methods are also being adapted into Sufi music. This modern input creates new depths in the artistic output without supplanting the traditional elements. Additionally, according to our study, the divergence is not only due to the tools but also due to the intrinsic musical frameworks. Especially, the classical musical differences and distinctive scales used in Damascus and Morocco reflect autonomous regional characteristics. The differences demonstrate that as tradition is encountered by modernity, there is always an autonomous local personality to each place. Surprising Findings: Most surprising was the lively dialogue between tradition and contemporary influences. Whereas the literature often suggests that these influences are in conflict, we discovered that the blending of contemporary techniques is not antithetical to tradition but can actually fortify it. Artists' syncretism of traditional Sufi content with new musical approaches demonstrates that the evolution of influences can enhance the musical experience without denigrating its original foundation.
