INTRODUCTION
Academy of Dramatic Art, Zagreb
(online event)
“How to do things with contexts” is a four day online seminar gathering students, practitioners, curators, scholars and cultural workers in order to discuss, debate and engage in critical reflection related to the expanded notion of curating and curatorial in the performing arts field.
From collective learning processes and radical pedagogy, research into self-organized programmatic gathering of artists, expansion of the human body and transformation of its senses to artists position in the labour market and progressive running of institutions, the seminar engages with various social and political contexts of and for curating.
The project aims to create knowledge, rethink curatorial practices and valorisation of art, its socio-political and economic contexts, its relation to activism, social movements and self-organization, and in general impact of the cultural and civic sectors on society.
The seminar is a part of “Curating in Context” Erasmus+ project co-organized by two NGOs (Tanzfabrik Berlin and Lokomotiva Skopje), and two Higher Education Institutions (Stockholm University of the Arts and Academy of Dramatic Art University of Zagreb).
