LTT2 STOCKHOLM

STOCKHOLM UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS

THE HOST STOCKHOLM UNIVERSITY OF THE ART (Dance Department) organised and implemented the activity LTT2 – intensive programme for teachers in collaboration with local artists, experts, and the Curating in Context consortium members. The activity focused on gender, feminism, and queer politics in curating, teaching and organising using concrete examples from international, Swedish and Stockholm contexts.

In preparation for LTT2, the consortium held regular online meetings via Zoom and the Google Meet platform. The design of activity LTT2 results from the steering group’s reflection on the kick-off meeting and LTT 1 in Skopje. There, it became evident that the expertise and teaching methods of the participants are comprehensive and that it is, therefore, necessary to invest time to make this knowledge tangible. The organising team planned more time and open formats to bring to the surface the different artistic, curatorial and pedagogical expertise that each member of the consortium had acquired in their professional work.

Lectures and presentations on local perspectives on curatorial practices related to norm-critical perspectives, feminist and queer strategies took place instead of only one planned lecture. It proved extremely useful to have space and time allocated to in-depth discussions and work in smaller groups, often in a self-organised manner. The exchanges that took place served as a basis to map the different methods, concepts and topics the participants had worked with related to gender, feminism and queer politics within curating, teaching and organisation. The mapping consequently advanced the development of strategies for further participation in the C3-Intensive Program for Higher Education Institution Learners and the development and preparation of teaching material needed for Summer School Skopje. Consequently, many participants contributed to the Summer School Skopje with online teaching formats such as lectures, workshops, presentations and artist talks.
