Ina Römling

Ina Römling is a freelance designer living in Hamburg, Germany. She studied Communication Design at Folkwang UdK, Essen and Experimental Design at HfBK, Hamburg. Together with Torben Körschkes she initiated the design and research collective HEFT.

 

Initiated as a discussion and event space on urbanism, HEFT´s practice has expanded through spatial designs, zines, workshops, archives, exhibitions, and extensive research trips. Since 2016, HEFT has been working on socio-spatial issues through different projects and in cooperative ways.

    As a nomadic communication practice, the Dialogical Structures explore alternative forms of linguistic-spatial negotiations by means of dialogically designed objects and structures. In the following, we formulate a relationship between artistic practice and utopian thinking on the basis of three theses, starting from the Dialogical Structures. We try to make clear to what extent an expanded concept of space and speculative artistic research, methodically brought together, form practices of imagination.
