Miriana Faieta is an Italian singer and researcher. After a degree in Languages and a Master’s degree in Jazz Singing, she is currently a PhD candidate in docARTES (Orpheus Instituut and University of Antwerp), where her research, initiated under the guidance of composer Tiziano Manca, explores the relationship between singing and language in choral improvisation practices. Specifically, Miriana Faieta conducts vocal workshops and collective performances to understand the relationship between singing and discourse in and through collective improvisation. These performances led her to present and share her research in various European cities, including Florence (Conservatoire L. Cherubini), Venice, Klagenfurt (Gustav Mahler Private University), Ljubljana (EPARM 2024), Vienna (Zentrum Fokus Forschung), and Ghent (Orpheus Instituut). In addition to her research activities, she continues her career as a singer-songwriter and as a jazz vocalist, performing at festivals in Italy and abroad.
