I am a practicing artist and academic. I was awarded a PhD from the University of Bath in 2001 for my thesis on Transitional Drawing as a Tool for Generating, developing and Modifying Ideas: Towards a Programme for Education. In 2009 I published a monograph entitled 'Teaching Creativity: Transitional Multi-mode Practices' London, Continuum. In 2021 I published 'The Wall Beside the Work: The Place of the Charged Image in Transitional Artistic Practices', Springer. From 2001 - 2012 I was a visiting fellow at the University of Bath. In 2022 I became a collaborative researcher affiliated to the i2ADS Research Institute in Art, Design and Society, Porto University, Portugal Fine Art faculty. I am a member of the Semiotics and Education Forum(SEMED) and was senior Researcher at the International Semiotics Institute Kaunas University, Lithuania.
