Till Bovermann is an artist and scientist working with field recordings and interactive sound programming to create sonic experiences and speculative islands of immersion and reflection. He has shown his work and self-made instruments at many institutions, among others at Ars Electonica or ZKM Karlsruhe. After studying Computer Science in the Natural Science, majoring in Robotics at Bielefeld University, where he also received his doctorate for his work on Tangible Auditory Interfaces, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Media Lab of Aalto University, Helsinki where he initiated TAI-studio.org as a platform for scientific and artistic research on tangible and auditory interfaces. From 2014 to 2016 Till was principal investigator of the 3DMIN project “Design, Development and Dissemination of New Musical Instruments” (3DMIN) at the UdK Berlin. He is currently working for the art-science project “Rottingsounds” at University for Applied Arts Vienna and runs plonk, a startup for contact microphony. Together with Katharina Hauke, Till runs the artist collective friendly.organisms.
