Moch Hasrul is a media artist and lecturer based in Jakarta, integrating art and technology in his work. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Art Education from Jakarta State University and a Master's degree in Fine Arts from the Bandung Institute of Technology. Currently, Hasrul serves as the director of Serrum and teaches in the Visual Communication Design program at Kalbis University Jakarta. His artistic practice involves experimenting with computational devices, mechanical and electronic systems, and plastic recycling. As the manager of Studio Batur Jakarta and an active member of the Gudskul Ecosystem community, Hasrul founded the GudRnD group, focusing on plastic recycling experiments. He uses technology to explore the relationship between humans and technology, viewing it as a representation of social, political, and cultural phenomena. His work often involves modifying found objects, combined with computational devices and sensors, utilizing elements like movement, sound, light, mechanisms, interactivity, and space. Hasrul is also interested in developing art-based contextual learning modules and methods centered on students, believing that art can be an effective educational tool. For him, direct interaction with the artwork is essential to create an aura and convey information to the public.
