Joanna Kalm is a dance artist and anthropologist working with somatic movement and creative body-based approaches. Her practice includes facilitation of somatic working processes to deepen bodily sensemaking, development of vocabulary for talking/writing from embodied experiences, and co-creating prarticipatory spaces for being-acting a body in diverse ways of becoming.
Joanna has been involved with co-curating the programme of TantsuRUUM, a contemporary dance space in Tallinn since 2017. Since 2020, she has been primarily focused on the somatic movement practice called Body-Mind Centering. She is currently a junior resesearcher-doctoral student at Estonian Academy of Arts and working on developing methods for somatic self- and co-regulation in the context of participatory performance.
