Rebecca Leal Moradalizadeh (b. London, 1989) is a Portuguese-Iranian visual artist and performer based in Porto, Portugal. In 2015, she created LandMarks Series, an ongoing autobiographical project focused on her origins, initiated during the process of obtaining her legal Iranian citizenship. The body of work, resulting from her post-migrant condition, has allowed her to reflect on her personal experiences of identity displacement, on the territory and its borders and on her place of belonging in the midst of these two cultures, mainly through performance art, video art and gastronomy. She is currently a PhD candidate in Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto with an FCT scholarship, with the theme In Search of an Identity through the Iranian Diaspora. A cross-cultural in-between vision from the performative body.
