MgA. Petra Widžová (*1991) graduated from the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Humanities at the Charles University in Prague and from the Curatorial Studies program at the Faculty of Art and Design in Ústí nad Labem, where she is currently pursuing doctoral research on the topic of Artists’ estates. In her practice, she focuses on cultural management and works as an independent curator of contemporary visual art.

 

She primarily concentrates on collective exhibitions emerging from interdisciplinary curatorial research (Logic of Growth, 2023, MUD Benešov; Good Job, 2024, Hraničář Gallery; the upcoming Shared Existences, 2025, House of Arts Ústí nad Labem; Atelier / Realité, 2026, GAMPA Pardubice).

 

She is the co-founder and curator of Artmat, a project dedicated to presenting young contemporary artists in public space, through which she has been developing international collaborations with Czech Centres since 2021. She also co-founded the gallery Vitríny Frýdlantská (now Vitríny Artbiom) and the Open Studios Prague festival.
