metamusic aims to develop interactive sound installations and electronic instruments for animals held in captivity. The project's target is to improve the animals’ quality of life, by designing an interactive musical environment that takes the specific needs and skills of the animals into consideration. metamusic, developed by the artists' group alien productions in collaboration with the zoologists and animal keepers of the ARGE Papageienschutz, centers its attention on grey parrots.

Unschärfe verweist auf Dimensionen, die uns Welt anders wahrnehmen lassen – in der Kunst, in der Quantentheorie und in den Gender Studies.

Eine perfromative Installation zu Menschen, deren Wege und Erfolge in Zwischenräumen daheim sind. Wir nähern uns den Menschen und ihrem Denken im Dazwischen mit dem Begriff der Haltung, in einem weiten Verständnis als immer schon gegebene Bezüglichkeit, einer vor jeglicher Bezugnahme vorhandenen potentiellen Bezüglichkeit. Menschen wie sie in den Fokus eines Projekts zu stellen, Existenzen wie ihren nachzuspüren, und, ebenso nicht-linear wie sie selbst sich zeigen, sich erzählen und agieren, zur Darstellung zu bringen, birgt ein explosives Potential.

Clarity as a hidden imperative of modernism was useful to Enlightenment, for demystifying the modern world. Ambiguity, however, breaks with the notion of a universe of clarity. Opposites blur, ambiguity is given space – through listening, seeing, thinking. The relationship to the observed undergoes change. Time is necessary in order to see something, the intention is to bring out associations.

The uncertainties, the empty spaces, the interstices and the unnamable are the areas of speaking about science and art which Andrea Sodomka and Doris Ingrisch investigate in the framework of their joint project “Versuche im Und – doing art & science”. Sodomka is a composer, media artist, and member of the artist group alien productions; Doris Ingrisch is a cultural scientist and professor of Gender Studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. In their work, both move in interdisciplinary fields, the in-between. A distillation of their conversations over the last two years has flown into the radio play “Versuche im Und”. It all began on the red sofa in Andrea Sodomka’s studio, where she met with Doris Ingrisch for talks circling the areas of science and art, and their intersections …
