She is an associate professor at Ain Shams University, Department of Architecture and Urban Design in Cairo and an associate researcher at the CRESSON research cente, the National School of Architecture in Grenoble where she defended her PhD thesis in 2014.

She is particularly interested in the sonic dimension and the temporal aspect and evolving character of cities. Some of her projects deal with contemporary urban issues such as sustainability, densification, memory, and heritage investigated from the angle of daily sensory experiences of a city.
