Polymetric Sequentiality - creating variation with repetition [Polymetric Sequentiality - 2025 - 2025-02-03 10:13] (2025)

About this exposition

In my master project I want to research how polymeters kan be used when composing electronic music. Utilising sequences in different time signatures I want to keep the hypnotic effect of repetitive music while still creating variation. Variation by repetition, that is the essence of 'polymetric sequentiality'. With a background in popular music I am curious to see where my project ends up aesthetically. As of now I see it more as a popular music project drawing inspiration from contemporary art, rather than a contemporary arts project drawing inspiration from popular music.
